Circular Usage of Steps: Controllers switch steps with the same power circularly to ensure equal usage and extend their lifespan.

Fast Action: Optimal regulation is achieved in a single cycle with minimal switching.

Monitoring Capabilities: The controllers monitor various electrical parameters including U, I, P, Q, S, cos , THDU, THDI, and odd harmonics up to the 19th order, as well as temperature.

Multiple Regulation Methods: The controllers support three regulation methods: Average Power Factor Regulation, SHTD and Instantaneous Power Factor.

Automatic Detection: They offer automatic or manual configuration of measuring circuits and detection of connected capacitor steps.

Universal Current Transformer Input: The controllers support universal current transformer inputs for both .. /1A and .. /5A.

Temperature Monitoring: An internal temperature sensor allows for ventilator control and step disconnection based on temperature levels.

De-compensation Ready: These controllers are compatible with de-compensation reactor steps.

Operation Monitoring: The controllers monitor switching operations and operation time.

Step Settings: They provide settings for discharging and minimum operation time for each step.

Alarm Output: The last step output can be programmed for alarm purposes. The PFC 12 RS has an independent alarm output.

Second Tariff: The PFC 12 RS can activate a second tariff via an external input.

Communication Interface: The controllers are equipped with an RS485 communication interface using Modbus RTU protocol.

LED Indication: Each step of the controller has an operation status indicated by a dichromatic LED, with different colors showing operation status and settings.

Over Temperature Control: The controllers have a two-level temperature alarm.First level starts the ventilation of the cabinet, and the second level disconnects all steps and displays an alarm.

ETI's PFC Series Controllers

ETI's PFC series includes the PFC 6 RS, PFC 8 RS, and PFC 12 RS power factor controllers, designed for use in low and medium voltage power factor correction applications. These controllers offer four-quadrant measurement and regulation and automatic detection of measuring circuits and capacitor steps.

Supply and Measuring Voltage: 400 VAC (+10%, -15%).
System Frequency: 50 Hz / 60 Hz.
Power Consumption:3.2 VA.
Current Range: 5mA - 6A.
Current Input Accuracy: ±0.2%.

Voltage Input Accuracy: ±0.5%.
THDU and THDI Accuracy: (U10%UN) ±5% / (I10%IN) ±5%.
Phase Error: ± 3° for I 3% In, otherwise ± 1°.
Switching Power of Relay Output: 250 V AC / 5 A.
Requested Power Factor: 0.8 inductive ÷ 0.8 capacitive.

Step Reconnection Delay: 5 ÷ 900 s.
Step Disconnection Delay: 5 ÷ 900 s.
Step Power Setting: 999 kVAr inductive ÷ 999 kVAr capacitive.
System Connection Detection: Manual / Automatic.
Working Temperature: -40°C ÷ +70°C.

IP Rating: IP20 rear, IP54 front panel.
Communication Interface: RS485 (Modbus RTU).
Dimensions: The PFC 6 RS and PFC 8 RS have a 97 x 97 mm panel mounting, while the PFC 12 RS is 144 x 144 mm.
Standards Compliance: EN 61010-1, EN50081-1, EN50082-1.

The PFC series includes controllers with varying numbers of outputs:

PFC 6 RS: 6 outputs.
PFC 8 RS: 8 outputs.
PFC 12 RS: 12 outputs, plus second tariff activation and independent alarm output.

All controllers support single-phase current measurement for three-phase balanced loads.

The controllers can be used in systems with TN-C 3x400V, 50Hz.
Capacitor steps with the same power should be connected next to each other.
Before disconnecting the current circuit, the current transformer (CT) should be shorted out.
